Thiruvaiyaru P. Sekar is a prominent Carnatic vocalist and one of the senior-most disciples of the legendary musical maestro Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna. Coming from an illustrious lineage of musicians, he is also the father and first guru of the award-winning Carnatic vocalist and playback singer Mahathi.

Based in Chennai, Sekar has dedicated his life to preserving and teaching traditional Carnatic music.
