Dr Sripad Bhat served as a teacher in Keroor High School and received doctorate for his research on the drama theatre of Uttar Kannada District 

Apart from this, he established the theatre research centre at Sheshgiri village of Haveri district at an expenditure of Rs 50 lac. He worked as a mentor and guide for the street plays as well as theatre plays

Dr Sripad Bhat will be awarded with the 'Suvarna Ranga Samman’ at Kantavar Jinaraj Hegde Memorial auditorium.
