Rajani Arjun Shankar graduated in Commerce from Madras University and parallely acquired an Honours Diploma in IT from NIIT. She had an active IT career spanning seven years-which she relinquished to raise her children. Her love for languages led her to acquire a Masters Degrees in Sanskrit as well as in English. She has formally learnt Carnatic vocal music. This, coupled with a deep interest in Indian culture and Sanskrit, has enabled her to actively contribute to popular Carnatic Music websites especially in the areas of Dikshitar krithis and translations. She now works with the J.Krishnamurti Foundation - India as a teacher in “The School-KFI”, Chennai, while pursuing her interests in music, languages and tree conservation. She lives in  chennai.
