Dr. Prema Ramamurthy  is the senior most disciple of Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna. She is a well known artiste in the field of Carnatic music. She has also composed and lent vocal support to Bharatanatyam recitals of well known artistes. Noted flautist Jayaprada is her daughter. 

Prema has been giving performances regularly over radio and on stage and is bracketed as ‘Top Grade artiste' by All India Radio (AIR). She has also given concerts in the US.
