KOVAI S.SABARISH :  Started learning percussion instrument TABLA at the tender age of 5. Soon thereafter he was fascinated by South Indian percussion instrument MRIDANGAM and developed special interest in learning the same.

Sabarish has been learning under Sri AMBATHUR K BABU who had learnt from Mridangam Maestro Guruvayur Dorai. Rigorous training, guidance and blessings from Sri Ambathur K. Babu took him to greater heights.
Shri Ambathur K Babu has not imparted the knowledge of technique but also inspired Sabarish to learn advanced stages of the art which can only be acquired through student  devotion and the generosity and blessings of the Guru.

Master Kovai  S. Sabarish received his first State Award from Tamilnadu at the age of 12. He has also won several prizes in various competitions held by prestigious organizations including Music Academy, Chennai, Rasiga Ranjana Sabaha, Trichy and Kalpathy Ratholsavam, Palghat.
