Prithi Narasimhan
(Vocal - Carnatic)
A disciple of the "Carnatica Brothers" Vid. K.N.Shashikiran and Chitravina P.Ganesh. Teach Carnatic music (vocal) lessons in person or via distant learning methods (Skype) in Plano/ Frisco Tx (Coit/ Ohio Rd and Hedgecoxe). I was initiated into Carnatic vocal at the age of 5 and Veena at the age of 7. I came under the tutelage of my guru K.N.Shashikiran of the popular "Carnatica Brothers" Duo in 2011 which was a new and rewarding phase in my carnatic music training. Carnatic music became my life long passion since my first class with my Guru and it is because of his encouragement, I gave a full fledged vocal concert in 2013 and have started performing regularly at the Frisco hanuman temple and in the DFW metroplex on all major occasions including Nadopasana, Thyagaraja aradhana, Oothukaadu Venkatakavi Aradhana, Annamacharya and Purandara Dasa Aradhana programs I also organize Carnatic music workshops in Plano that is directly taught by my guru himself. I follow my guru's syllabus which emphasizes a lot on introducing advanced techniques from the early stages of learning itself. I work a lot on swara patterns, swara identification, raga identification and other aspects in my classes along with teaching the basic lessons. I also teach a lot of small carnatic based songs, kritis or keerthams from day one. I have personally found that my guru's techniques have helped me in sustaining the interest levels in young children and actually helps them learn their basics faster and with awareness.
