Yashes Srinivasan
(Mridangam)
Yashes Srinivasan began learning the art of playing mridangam at age 9, receiving his initial training in San Diego under Sri. Kalyan Vaidyanathan, a disciple of renowned vidwan Sri. Rajappa Iyer. He is now pursuing advance training under the tutelage of vidwan Sri. Manoj Siva, a disciple of legendary vidwan Sri. Palghat Raghu. Yashes has also received Carnatic vocal music training from Sri. C.M. Venkatachalam. As a passionate mridangist, Yashes has performed and accompanied musicians on several occasions in concerts, music festivals and cultural events in San Diego and Los Angeles. He has been recognized for his music, having received multiple music awards. He is currently a freshman at UCLA majoring in Bioengineering and is actively involved in the music community.
