Girija Hariharan is a vocalist who performs widely. From the age of 6, she started learning music from Saraswathi, in Neyveli. Her second Guru was Sri Ramamoorthy, Neyveli.  Presently, she is being trained by Smt.Sankari Krishnan, Chennai ( Lalgudi's Disciple) and also from Sri.Neyveli Santhanagopalan.

Girija Hariharan has been gifted to learn Arunagiri Nathar's Thirrupugazh from The Holy Saint, Arutkavi Thavathiru Sadhuram Swamigal. She has been performing solo  Thiruppugazh concerts for the past 3 decades.She has been performing in many temples and public places and sabas in Chennai during the season.  She has performed abroad in Kuwait country. 

She is also a Hindustani classical vocalist, Devotional singer, Veena artist.
